The "Confidently Energetic Book Club" has challenged and encouraged us to look closer at our relationships and interactions with colleagues and employees. By being aware of the energy we give throughout our work and personal lives we have had more positive interactions, relationships and professional growth.

We are so glad to have had the opportunity ot particiapte in this amazing book club.  The awareness that now encompassess our life promotes personal and professional growth we didn't know was possible.  We look forward to continuing to use these principals and awareness to open many doors into our future endeavors.  We would definitely recommend this program to others looking to grow personally and professionally.

Before working with Coach Karen, I struggled with being an introvert in a world that caters to extroverts. My confidence level was not as high as I desired it to be. Coach Karen made a definite impact in my life by facilitating ideas on how to "show up" in a way that leverage my strengths. Our coaching sessions resulted in me having a higher confidence level and more extroverted when needed.  All I can say is WOW!

From my work with Karen, I’ve gained clarity on the 'gremlins' I’ve been battling. She brought out aspects that I was unaware of - with this knowledge I am now working to keep the gremlin in check!  Thanks Karen!

How to Move Past Feeling Rejected in Your Career

When you’re feeling rejected because of a failing job search or an inability to get ahead at work, it can be hard to stay positive about your situation.

By coaching yourself through the difficult moments, you can readjust your perspective and train your mind to make the most out of your current circumstance. By doing this, you’re essentially learning a new way to think and live in the world - a way that will help you reach your goals.

Here are four powerful questions to start this retraining process:

  1. How else can I look at this situation? Right now, I see X, but is it possible that there is a Y or a Z? For this question, I challenge you to really stretch and try to see ANY other possible way to look at your situation.

  2. How can I grow from this situation? Where is the opportunity? One of the most important keys to retraining your brain is to start looking for the opportunity in every single situation. Lost your job? Great! An awesome reason to start that business you’ve been dreaming about. Fighting with your spouse? What a terrific opportunity to practice some new communication skills. See how that works?

  3. What do you think this situation means about you as a person and how can you let go of that belief? Let’s say you lost your job and now you feel like a failure. How can you move past feeling like a failure, and start believing you are a winner? What needs to happen so you can think of yourself in a more positive light?

  4. What do you want your new story to be? We all have different stories we tell about ourselves, our pasts and our lives. For example, some people say they aren’t good at relationships, while others say they aren’t organized people. These are things we believe about ourselves because we’ve seen evidence in the past to back them up. Today, I challenge you to look past your old beliefs, and think about what you want your new story to be.

Feeling rejected or down in career will reduce your confidence level and affect your future. If such is the case then its time to stop thinking and try to train yourself because you know your qualities best. Have positive approach and choose the sector that you are interested in and focus on it completely. You can consult with friends or people who know more about it. Try to utilize the opportunity whether its small or big and put your efforts and the results will be positive.
